My name is Barbara, I was born and raised in Genova, Italy, in a very strong and traditional family with a deep love for homemade food. 
 
My biggest inspirations are my grandmothers and my mom who have been cooking spectacular meals for our family every day of the year, I just sat in the kitchen looking at their hands running quickly between homemade ravioli, gnocchi, pies, cookies and being fascinated from how they could transform a simple cup of flour in the most tasteful dish, I can still smell the fresh tomato sauce for the spaghetti or the fragrance of coffee for the Tiramisu' going around the entire house.
 
Since then cooking has always been my  biggest passion, a source of inspiration and relaxation that's why the perfect evening for me is inviting friends over for a nice dinner. I love shopping at the farmer’s market, getting menu inspirations, setting the table and lighting the candles always make me feel alive.
 
My other passions are travel, photography and interior design. I have an indomitable curiosity for foreign cultures, exotic food, colors and music. I traveled trough Europe, Africa, North and South America and a few years ago moved to Miami, Florida where the influence of the Caribbean and Latin food is very strong and engaging.
 
As my first love is food, I was bale to make it a job: Personal Chef with a predilection for Italian food.
 
While settling in, my adventurous palat and innate desire for what is new, took me to start FAMISHED, a culinary experience trough the food sites in Toronto, from the finest restaurant at the fanciest Hotel in town to the street food market, it just need to taste good!
